An Arts Festival like No Other
Visual Art Exchange, in conjunction with SPARK CON, is pleased to announce the 2007 Raleigh Street Painting Festival/groundSPARK which will be held September 21-23 in City Market in the Moore Square Art District. All festival events are FREE and open to the public.
This is not your typical art festival. Moore Square and City Market will be filled with over 300 artists actually painting the street, using Martin Street in Moore Square as their canvas. The artists will have only 27 hours to complete their work.
Friday Festivities start at 3pm for the street artists.
Don't miss The Blue Moon Belly Dancers, Friday night at 7pm (before the Fashion Show) on the NW Stage at Moore Square!
Saturday Festivities begin at 11am, with street artists continuing their work, kids chalk, the Scrap Exchange and live music.
Don't miss the "Art-on-the-move" art buses being dedicated at 6pm Saturday, and the street painting awards at 7pm.
Then, continue to hang around in the park for the ArtSlam, a part of artSPARK, which begins at 7pm.
