Octavia Rainey

Octavia Rainey is a well known community advocate, with 25 years of experience working on issues to improve the quality of life in economically challenged neighborhoods. A 1978 graduate of St. Augustine's College, Ms. Rainey is a lobbyist and consultant on a variety of community concerns.

Ms. Rainey is a member of and active in an impressive number of state and local organizations, including: the City of Raleigh Fair Housing Board; the Southeast Raleigh Assembly; Southeast Raleigh Mini Neighborhood Exchange; North Carolina CAC; NCSU Chancellor Neighborhood Advisory Committee; the BB&T CRA Round Table; the Community Reinvestment Assoc. of NC; Raleigh Wake Citizens Assoc.; Legal Aid of NC; and the Justice Center of NC.
